Urban&Civic are delivering a high-quality settlement of 6,500 dwellings, green open space, associated commercial use properties, and primary and secondary schools. They are investing in a range of transport, energy, and community facilities to support both the new residents and the surrounding town and villages—we’re adding value by bringing our experience from similar schemes.
We helped achieve temporary planning consent for change of use for a number of the existing buildings, including leisure facilities which are open to use for the village and offices. These have now hosted wider consultation events, which have helped keep the local community informed. Our services cover all technical, engineering, and environmental aspects including highways, transport, drainage, flood risk assessment, utilities, ground conditions, noise, air quality, and more.
With the early refurbishment projects complete, the main development proposals received preliminary County Council approval in July 2018. The detailed design for the first phase of development is nearing completion, and construction is expected to start mid-2019. With our suite of professional services, local knowledge, and local contacts, we were able to support Urban&Civic and the wider design team to help progress this ambitious masterplanning vision.
