PBA was commissioned by Homes England to secure outline planning permission for a residential development at land to the south of Pewterspear Green Road in Stretton, Warrington.
The site was originally acquired by the Commission for New Towns, and then transferred to English Partnerships and subsequently on to Homes England. PBA provided planning consultancy services and led a multidisciplinary team, supported by IBI Group, providing technical advice in relation to transport, noise, utilities, ecology, flood risk and drainage.
PBA worked collaboratively with the Council to demonstrate that the scheme would not result in severe highway impacts and to overcome local opposition. Warrington Borough Council resolved to grant outline planning permission for up to 180 dwellings subject to the signing of a Section 106 Agreement in February 2017.
PBA was subsequently instructed by Barratt Homes to provide planning, transport, ecology, hydrology and landscape consultancy services to support a Reserved Matters application. We worked closely with Barratt Homes to formulate a high quality residential scheme pursuant to the outline planning permission, and submitted an application for approval of Reserved Matters in April 2018. We supported Barratt Homes throughout the determination process and the application was approved in October 2018.
