PBA Prague is playing an integral role in the construction of the new O2 Universum, a multipurpose building neighbouring the existing O2 Arena in Prague.
The iconic O2 Arena is a landmark convention centre that was completed some 10 years ago and is still one of the best facilities of its kind in Europe.
PBA are responsible for the design of the ventilation systems in the four-storey structure. We are also using our extensive experience in 3D modelling and BIM to manage the overall coordination of the building services related to the project.
With the ventilation concept concentrating on operational savings, the cooling source will be used in summer only with internal heat gains being compensated by freecooling (i.e. without the use of compressors) in winter.
The O2 Universum will include 21 new halls over four floors, and will cater for conferences, sporting and cultural events for 10,000 people. The new building will increase the total capacity of the O2 Arena to 28,000 visitors.
The opening of the O2 universum is scheduled for the summer 2019.
