PBA currently acts as retained consultant to Co-op Food providing planning and development management services in respect of convenience store development across the north of England, North Wales and the East Midlands.
Co-op Food has an ambitious expansion programme and is aiming to open more than 100 new convenience stores every year over the next few years. This will amount to investment of around £70 million per year and the creation of thousands of new jobs.
PBA acts on all planning matters in respect of convenience stores across the three regions and is responsible for carrying out planning appraisals, co-ordinating pre-application discussions, preparing and submitting planning applications and negotiating these through to determination. We are also involved in the discharge of planning conditions and amendments to existing permissions. In addition to the development of new stores, PBA acts on planning matters relating to the refurbishment and extension of existing Co-op stores.
