Simon joined in 1994 and leads a team within the Civil Engineering group. His career has progressed to gain a broad variety of engineering design experience with private sector and local authority clients, including a particular interest in highways and urban design using natural stone paving materials.
He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a competent highway engineer and multi-disciplinary project manager, with a broad knowledge of engineering design and implementation. He has extensive experience of the ‘Design Manual for Roads and Bridges’ and ‘Manual for Streets’, as well as natural stone paving design. He is also experienced in the preparation of construction contract documents for highway works and taking on the role of NEC Project Manager in construction projects. Simon is a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE), leads our regional liaison with the ICE and is a ‘Supervising Civil Engineer’ helping the next generation of engineers and technicians to achieve their professional accreditation.
Simon leads our multi-disciplinary projects for both private and public sector clients, as well as directly for contractors in ‘design and build’ arrangements. His project experience encompasses the local authority, residential, commercial, health and education sectors, including regionally significant projects such as Reading Station, South MRT in Reading, Mereoak Lane Park and Ride, Arborfield Cross Relief Road, Seven Dials in Brighton, and The Royal Parks highways framework.
