Richard joined the practice in 1986 and is based in the South West. He has spent much of his career in PBA’s Reading and London offices. Now based in the South West, he heads up the Practice’s operations in that region, and has a leading role in civil engineering for the Practice. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Surrey and is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Richard has particular experience in all aspects of development and infrastructure projects, including the concept design, planning, procurement, contract administration and project management of major commercial, industrial, housing and mixed-use land development projects across the UK. He also has extensive experience in all aspects of infrastructure, including highways, transport, drainage, energy, and utilities.
Richard has overseen the infrastructure delivery of numerous schemes, including the Bristol and Bath Science Park and the redevelopment of Begbroke Science Park, key infrastructure and transport highways schemes for the recently approved mixed-use site at Filton Airfield, and the regeneration of the historic Castle Green site in central Taunton.
He is one of PBA’s Supervising Civil Engineers (SCE) for the ICE, and in this role, gives his direct and personal support to a number of graduates training for Chartership.
