Nick joined PBA in 2011, and manages the firm’s Glasgow office. He is responsible for PBA’s planning and economics service in Scotland, as well as the development of its economics service across the UK.
Significant projects he has delivered for PBA include: development of the business cases for the Oban Airport Link Road, The Helix in Falkirk and City Deal projects such as the development of the Exxon site at Dumbarton, a challenging multi-disciplinary project with capital works likely to be around £28m; and economic and socio-economic assessments of road, energy and other infrastructure, including the economic elements of the A9 dualling and A82 improvement projects, Navitus Bay Offshore Wind Park, gas-fired power projects for Watt Power in Suffolk and South Wales, and onshore wind farms across the country.
Nick has developed a particular expertise in feasibility studies, sector analyses, area masterplan and regeneration strategies and analysis of the economic benefits of infrastructure improvement. He lectures at Dublin’s Portobello Institute on socio-economic analysis as part of Environmental Impact Assessment, and has delivered related seminars to the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
