Martin joined PBA in 1999, and has been a Director since 2007. With extensive experience in technical project management across the UK and in Europe, he heads up the Practice’s offices in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Martin holds a PhD in Civil Engineering, and speaks Czech, English, and Russian.
Martin has led M&E design teams for significant commercial, leisure, and mixed-use developments in Central and Eastern Europe, including the 200,000 m² Comm City office and shopping complex in Moscow; the 60,000 m² mixed-use Harbourside Constanta project on the coast of Romania, the award-winning ELI International Laser Research Centre near Prague, and Florentinum, the landmark office development in the centre of Prague.
He has also served as design engineer for several major buildings in the UK; supervising the construction of a new £6.5 million police station in Staines, the £20 million refit of the Eland House development and undertaking structural surveys for the refurbishment of iconic 20th century buildings in central London.
Martin has spoken at a number of conferences and been published in international technical journals.
