Kevin Lumsden

Kevin joined in 2015 as Director of Transport Modelling and has over 25 years of experience in Transport Planning, Appraisal and Modelling, with specific expertise in multi-modal modelling. He has an honours degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering from Napier University in Edinburgh and is a member of the ICE and CIHT.

He is an accomplished Project Director and Manager, having led large scale projects and multi-disciplinary frameworks that have delivered transport models and applied them in operational, economic and environmental analysis & appraisal for a wide range of policies, development plans and schemes.

Kevin is an expert in; scoping, specification, development, enhancement, maintenance, application and independent audit, of transport models, with experience in model development and application ranging from local, regional to national scales and including microsimulation, multi-modal and land use models.

He has advised Highways England, National Transport Authority (Ireland) and Transport Scotland, where he has been integral in developing their transport modelling capabilities. He has also provided advice and support to local authorities, central government and other consultancies on best practice modelling approaches to meet their requirements. He has presented and published papers on various projects and modelling techniques at conferences throughout the world.
