Jim leads the Civil Infrastructure team in Scotland. He holds a Masters degree in Transportation Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer; a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers; and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, Australia.
He has over 30 years’ experience across the public and private sectors in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. He is experienced in leading professional teams across a wide range of large multi-disciplinary projects from inception through to completion. He has a broad range of experience across civil design management, road and highway design, traffic engineering, transportation planning, project and programme management, and technical review roles. He has regularly presented roads and transportation evidence at Council Committees, Hearings and Public Local Inquiries.
Jim has a passion for producing high-quality outputs which meet project objectives, avoid abortive work and are delivered on time. As an experienced design manager and technical reviewer, Jim is skilled in value engineering. His international experience has enabled him to gain exposure to alternative project delivery methods which are centred on delivering innovative value for money outcomes, reducing whole life costs, and managing risks.
