Dan Griffiths

Dan joined as a graduate in September 2005 and became Director in January 2019. He is responsible for the development and leadership of the Birmingham office. His experience is primarily in transport planning, having prepared the evidence to support the approval of over 20,000 new homes and nearly 30,000 jobs. He has successfully led Transport Assessments for residential, commercial, education and retail developments and worked on a variety of SUEs, strategic employment sites, city centre regeneration and infrastructure projects across Birmingham and the Midlands (including UK Central). Furthermore, Dan has prepared business cases, transport strategies and local plan representations for a variety of public and private sector clients.

He also has extensive experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams, leading PBA, now part of Stantec's advice on flood risk, noise, air quality, utilities and other engineering led services. His experience includes a series of landmark buildings and developments in Birmingham, such as Paradise, Grand Hotel, Arena Birmingham, Mailbox, as well as strategic EIA developments for homes, jobs and retail across Peterborough (Great Haddon/ North Westgate), Leicestershire (Barwell), Warwickshire and Solihull (Blythe Valley Park).

Dan has presented on a number of topics including the future of Transport Assessments (2018), the meaning of “severe” within a transport context of the NPPF (2017); at the Transport Practitioners Event (2013) on creating world class public realm and excellent pedestrian environments based on one of his projects, and for the PTRC (2016) at their ‘Successful Planning Applications’ course, on Assessing and Mitigating Impacts on Parking in Developments. Dan is also a member of Birmingham Future’s Infrastructure Committee.
