Chris has a career spanning over 25 years in the flood risk and water sectors. He has successfully delivered complex, multi-disciplinary projects in these sectors for a range of major clients. He is a Chartered member of the ICE and CIWEM, where he is also a member of the Rivers and Coastal Group. He is a member of the British Dam Society.
As a director at PBA he leads the flood risk and water management teams in the South East of England and provides support nationally in the development of the portfolio in these sectors.
Chris’s approach is based on looking at developing solutions that work for the client in terms of addressing flood risk and drainage needs while enhancing the development scheme and meeting sustainability objectives. He feels a more water sustainable approach to urban design can help with this and is promote this concept on schemes he works on.
He has a wealth of knowledge having managed large frameworks for the Environment Agency, delivered surface water management plans for local authorities, and developed strategic flood alleviation schemes. He was responsible for a consultancy JV delivering the sustainable management of the Environment Agency’s waterway infrastructure throughout their SE and Anglian Regions. He has managed the delivery of Agency projects, which have won ICE awards, including Eldridges Lock Fish Pass, Hampstead Lock Refurbishment and Sandford Access Bridge Replacement.
