PBA were appointed to deliver highways for this residential development of approximately 350 homes on the eastern edge of Exeter.
The delivery of the project depended on overcoming several challenges. The site is bisected by both a main river and a strategic relief road delivered by Devon County Council. To enable the construction of the relief road, strong stakeholder management was required during construction to ensure a successful outcome.
Both surface water and foul water drainage were also required to cross the main river, this led to the design, licencing and construction of a pipe bridge for the foul sewer and an inverted syphon for the surface water drainage.
