Layden House, London

PBA is appointed under the HCA framework to provide multidisciplinary design services for a low-energy refurbishment for the Local Government Association’s Layden House office in Farringdon.

We are providing a full suite of design services with in-house structural, M&E, ecology and acoustics services. The upward and outward extension includes replacement of the front façade and internal refit to bring this 1970s office up to modern standards in time for the opening of Farringdon Crossrail in 2018.

PBA presented a transformation strategy for the existing 45,000ft2 building to be changed from an inefficient office to a new specification responding to the local commercial market with underfloor ventilation distribution, on floor plant, increasing floor area and occupancy specification but reducing carbon emissions.
