Aylesbury Woodlands

PBA is delivering the masterplan for a sustainable mixed-use commercial, leisure and residential development at Aylesbury Woodlands, as part of the new Aylesbury Garden Town.

The draft VALP (Vale of Aylesbury Local Plan) showed Aylesbury as playing a substantial and critical role in delivering growth for the district and the rest of Buckinghamshire. In January 2017, Aylesbury was identified as a Garden Town and will be a focus for:

  • Around 15,000 new market and affordable housing which the Aylesbury Woodlands scheme will help to deliver
  • New investment in economic activity and regeneration
  • New retail and employment development with Aylesbury Woodlands being given ‘Enterprise Zone’ status
  • Investment in multi-modal transport infrastructure through the Aylesbury Transport Strategy
  • Health, education and community infrastructure

The 220-hectare Aylesbury Woodlands site is a key part of this growth strategy, with a high quality sustainable scheme designed to achieve exemplary standards of design within an extensive green infrastructure framework, including parkland, community facilities and sporting facilities.

PBA was appointed through the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) Multi-Disciplinary Framework to support Buckinghamshire Advantage with initial preliminary technical and planning advice for this site in 2014 which has created the vision to take the site forward. We are currently working to provide further post-submission technical information with the aim to reaching a May/June 2017 planning committee date.
