KEY FACTS

A82 Road Economic Analysis, Scotland

The A82 is the main road linking the West Highlands to the rest of Scotland – both a strategic transport link and a popular tourist route – and the Loch Lomond section is a notorious bottleneck. Designing an upgrade is the first in a series of major road improvement commissions by Transport Scotland.

PBA developed supporting economic analyses to help select the most appropriate route. In June 2015, the project was approved to go to detailed design, and PBA economists are continuing to support the process.
