Martin joined Peter Brett Associates in 2006 and leads the Buildings group based in Reading. He has been instrumental in shaping the Practice’s building design service to ensure it offers clients a holistic, coordinated approach. He gained a first-class degree in engineering from Kingston University London, and won the school prize for the top student.
Martin’s background is in structural engineering, where he has significant experience in the design of building structures across all sectors. He has a particular interest in the design of concrete structures, advanced analysis techniques, and BIM, as well as improving the sustainability and efficiency of the design process.
Martin has worked with a range of clients from both the private and public sectors and has a strong track record of providing expert engineering lead support to projects and development partner bids. He has been involved in the project management of high-profile projects such as the Foster and Partners award winning McLaren Technology Centre in Woking.
Martin leads PBA’s role as industry Partner to UTC Reading, which in 2015 achieved an Ofsted Outstanding rating. He sits on the college’s Board of Governors; advising on curriculum, and helps to co-ordinate apprenticeship and projects experience for students. He is also a founding Board member of the Peter Brett Foundation, promoting diverse entry paths into careers in the built and natural environment.
